Comments:Â Starting in Springfield, this route kicks off with a scenic blast over Porters Pass on smooth, sweeping tarmac before giving way to well-maintained gravel roads. From there, you'll wind your way through stunning high-country scenery, passing a collection of crystal-clear alpine lakes, each more picturesque than the last. The adventure finishes at the northern tip of Lake Coleridge, where breathtaking mountain views and the feeling of true backcountry isolation make for a memorable end to the ride.
Be sure to pick a good weather window before tackling this ride. The valley is notorious for strong winds, and when they're howling, the journey can quickly become far more challenging than expected. On a calm day, however, you'll be rewarded with an unforgettable ride through spectacular high-country scenery.
